Vignette Of The Day: 21 July, 2023

I love to create little vignettes in my home that collate, curate and display my passions, interests and items. The bookcases are now full of items from my own life, as well as that of my mother and father. Do you see anything you recognize?

Painting: a local (Trinidadian) painting of immortelle trees in bloom. The artist was a friend of my father’s but my mother doesn’t remember his name. Unfortunately it is also unsigned. Hopefully someone on the internet will recognize it and be able to tell me!

Basket: My mother has a huge straw basket collection which she refuses to pare down! Some of them have stories behind them, some were just impulsive grab and go’s. This one falls into that latter category.

Record: One of my old 45’s (remember those?!). Katrina and the Waves – Walking on Sunshine!
